LISTEN TO “THOSE DAYS” FROM LP ON SPOTIFY - APPLE MUSIC
VINYL WITH EXCLUSIVE TRACKS AVAILABLE VIA LAST HURRAH RECORDS
(SAN DIEGO, CA) - JULY 17, 2024 - San Diego-based punk/alt-rock group Doll Riot has revealed the details of their upcoming new LP, 'Grage.' Set for a July 19th release, the girls are giving us a taste of their furious yet creative new music with the single "Those Days," which is available now on streaming. On the heels of their powerful singles “B-29” and “Those Days,” Doll Riot is now leaning into more experimental and cross-genre songwriting, delivering an unpredictable rock/punk album that will be one hell of a ride. The girls collaborated with producer Alex Estrada (Touché Amore, Joyce Manor, and Rotting Out) to put together the effort.
Many may think San Diego is just a beachy, relaxed area, but the SD girls in Doll Riot have much to discuss with their creative angst and want to remind music fans of the area's rich punk, rock, and avant-garde-soaked history. Sure, SD groups like Blink-182 always throw a party, yet some of this generation's most creative, alternative sounds call SD home, like Rocket from the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, and, of course...Doll Riot. While sticking to their familiar punk/rock roots and inspiration, 'Grage' promises a rollercoaster of unique songwriting, killer riffs, chaotic drumming, and vocalist Elena Olszak's unique voice.
Hot on the heels of a massively successful Punk Rock Bowling main stage performance and a photo shoot with Sun Bum, Doll Riot is defining the spirit of DIY while inching closer to their dream of becoming a full-time touring group. The band has also joined forces with the label Last Hurrah for an exclusive vinyl release. The 12-inch LP, available for $25 online, includes 2 exclusive tracks and is limited to 500 copies. Variants include blood (ultra-clear with blood splatter) and pink (ultra-clear with neon pink and purple splatter). Those who purchase the vinyl can expect delivery in July, adding a unique piece of Doll Riot's growing catalog to their collection.
With a work ethic often unheard of these days, Doll Riot has defied the odds in a saturated industry and quickly risen in San Diego's vibrant music scene, crushing audiences and always making new friends across the West Coast. Their high-energy performances, often alongside legendary bands like Agent Orange and TSOL, resonate with the rebellious spirit of 'riot girl' punk rock from the '90s underground scene. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like L7, Hole, and Bikini Kill, Doll Riot's upcoming album is eagerly anticipated to blend their distinctive sound with innovative new ideas.

ABOUT DOLL RIOT:
In 2020, four North County San Diego high school students formed an all-girl garage band. The teens found themselves in a rage of frustration and discouragement in the midst of a pandemic, unable to book shows. When the world started to reopen, vocalist Elena Olszak, guitarist Ella Sauer, bassist London Kraus, and drummer Lillee Gillum were more determined than ever. The group started playing shows regularly throughout the city, and it wasn't long before the four girls began the making of their wildly untamed original music. Inspired by real-life dilemmas and political angst, the music of Doll Riot's raw energy and unapologetic lyrics encourage listeners to question the status quo and embrace their own voices, as featured on their debut album, Grage. The vinyl version of Grage includes thirteen songs, including two tracks exclusive to the vinyl record - the song "Hate" and a cover of "Sheela-Na-Gig" by PJ Harvey.
