The California indie rock transplant now calls Australia home and tells his story via a 3 song journey

9/14/23 - (SAN FRANCISCO, CA) - Calling both SF and Australia his musical homes, songwriter and producer Jesse Judies has been busy putting the final touches on his upcoming EP ‘Colors of Youth’. As a taste of things to come, this 3 song effort gives listeners an initial taste of music that will be included on his nearly complete full-length album, ‘Coup De Foudre’. This new set of songs is deeply personal, but creatively tells the story of uprooting himself from a familiar life in San Francisco to begin anew in Sydney, Australia. ‘Colors of Youth’ will be available on all DSPs on September 19th.

Known to most of his friends as “Nick Bray”, you may catch Jesse Judies playing a hip festival around town, or on another day, living life as a bicycle delivery guy earning an honest living. What he does unusually well is combine a unique perspective on life and mesh it perfectly with infectious indie rock, soaked in incredible production, and backed with beats that will quickly melt your stress away. There’s a layer of charisma that’s hard to describe, but it comes across perfectly in both his music and in videos for tracks like “Chemistry” “This is gonna happen and I’ve Been There Before Undoubtedly, the 3 songs on ‘Colors of Youth’ and his growing catalog bring a much-needed dose of fresh energy to the indie rock scene.

‘Colors of Youth’ the upcoming EP was written and produced by Nick Bray (Jesse Judies), mixed by Ollie Brown mastered by Josh Weaver in Nashville, TN. He will be performing songs from the EP at multiple tour stops scheduled for Northern California later this month.

ARTIST QUOTE - "Colors of Youth is the first song I wrote after meeting the woman who became my wife. Though I tried to encapsulate my feelings in a coherent manner, only a flurry of words would do and "Three big steps and I'll walk on the moon, planting the flag, Colors of Youth" are my favorites because they speak to the adventure and discovery of love.

In the spirit of poetic, life changing events, I the two additional songs to the EP are in the vein of life change; Oumuamua, which is about an event so big that you're forever changed and convinced you must follow your new destiny/deity and Just In Case, which is about a previous partner and I trying to prepare for disasters, only to realize I have to face those events alone." - Jesse Judies

Jesse Judies is the moniker of former San Francisco indie mainstay, Nick Bray. Bray cut his teeth playing guitar for indie darlings, Music For Animals before fronting EagleWolfSnake. Bray began producing music as Jesse Judies in 2018, when he embarked on his first full length record entitled Thoughts In A Loop. After mixing and mastering TIAL, Covid kicked off and Bray relocated to Sydney to avoid being separated from his Australian partner. Though torn from his San Francisco roots, Bray stayed busy during the pandemic by releasing a video and single for Chemistry in late 2020 and released Thoughts In A Loop in early 2021. As the pandemic dragged on, Bray began collaborating with Aussie singer/songwriter Sasha March, producer Ollie Brown and former Lungs and Limbs drummer Matt Power. The collaborations bore fruit in the form of a new record entitled Coup De Foudre, which documents Bray’s experience of uprooting himself during the pandemic and finding his footing in Australia. The first single from CDF is Colors of Youth, which is due to be released in mid September 2023.
