(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) - JULY 23, 2021 - Bay area songwriter, producer and notable concert promoter Izzy the Gent has released a new single via his project Everything But The Everything. Now available via streaming services, “Denials” features guest vocals by Tobias Hawkins, who is known for being a founding member of Counting Crows and singing with Laundry alongside Primus Drummer Tim Alexander. The indie track soars with a vicious New Wave sound, soaked in echoes of synthesizers, Izzy’s distinct bass stylings and Tobias’s powerful and ominous voice.
Izzy The Gent takes a different approach to producing and releasing music under his Everything But The Everything moniker. As a bass player and producer by nature, he pairs each of his indie-rock tracks to a specific voice, knowing that one person will be the perfect fit for the song. In addition to “Denials”, Izzy has released multiple singles throughout 2020 including “Blue Sun” (feat. Olivia Barchard), "The Story (feat. Sophia Prise)", "Intimacy (feat. Luke Sweeney)" and "Jump (feat. Vacances)". Perhaps the drive to collaborate is instinctive, as Izzy spent many years in the San Francisco music scene playing shows or playing the role as promoter for some of the area's best talent and events.
Speaking on the single, Izzy reflects "Tobias is the most rock and roll person I have ever met. My first impression of Tobias was that he looked like Rock n' Roll if Rock n' Roll was a person and his voice. His vocal delivery teetered from hair metal to glam, always dark and delivered with power. I totally dug it. This will be our fourth collaboration together and I hope there's more to come." Izzy and Tobias crossed paths when their respective bands played together at The Eagle in San Francisco. Izzy grew up with an interest in different genres of music, from punk, indie and electronic and knew the most rewarding part of the process is often those who you work with on music groups and projects. “Denials” has all the best elements of an indie genre track, and has the stamp of Izzy’s passion for bass guitar and creating a feeling with his production that is unique.

Everything But The Everything is the project of San Francisco producer and bass player Izzy The Gent. Growing up in the Bay Area gave Izzy a taste of Punk Rock in his youth, but over the years he shifted interest into becoming a DJ and climbing the ranks within the scene as a notable club promoter.
