Tattoo Artist Dillon Forte Becomes First Tattoo Artist To Exclusively Use NFTs As Flash Art

The notable Austin tattooer, artist and entrepreneur announces that his growing collection of NFT art will serve as his only flash available at FORTE Studio.

(AUSTIN, TX) - FEB 1, 2022 - Multi-dimensional tattoo artist Dillon Forte recently revealed that his new studio FORTE TATTOO ATX would be the world's first NFT Tattoo studio, where all “flash” would be available for purchase as a “Non Fungible Tattoos” . By appointment only, clients may purchase and request the digital art to be tattooed at FORTE Studio. Originally minted via OpenSea, Forte was one of the first artists to both sell an NFT and tattoo the unique art on the same person. For 2022, the Austin based artist announced that all “flash” available for potential FORTE Studio clients must be purchased first (custom pieces still available.)

In 2021, Forte created his first array of NFT pieces and made them available via his ‘FORTErrestrial’ store on OpenSea, allowing users to purchase the unique art using the popular ethereum (ETH) cryptocurrency. OpenSea is a leading online marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTS), allowing users to purchase and own a digital piece of art.

As the creator, Dillon Forte not only receives future royalties on the future purchases of this NFT piece, but also garners awareness for his FORTE brand and his tattooing efforts overall. One piece of art, called “Hexagonal Matrix” was purchased in late 21’ and tattooed on the same customer as part of the process. In addition to the customer owning the digital asset, the NFT could pay for itself and generate passive income on future sales on the original art. As the design entered the secondary market after purchase, the value could effectively increase over time.

Traditionally, clients of tattoo artists had the options to approach a tattoo artist with existing ideas, collaborate on new ones in-studio, or select from “tattoo flash” via books and art that were made in-advance. “Having any/all flash available strictly via the NFT marketplace gives a creative new way for clients to discover my work, while also owning both the digital asset and having the art on their body” explains Forte. “The owner can then resell the digital art online, give it away or whatever they please, but ultimately they will have it tattooed which is pretty cool.” Other limited art currently available via Forte’s store includes geometric pieces such as CRØP CįRČŁE, DIAMOND HAND$ and FLŌWĒR OF L1FE.

For over a decade Forte has been known worldwide for his incredible sacred geometry, dot and blackwork tattooing. Along the way he has also inked quite a few household names (Usher, Chris Hemsworth, Kehlani etc) and has become a leader in the design aesthetic. With his venture into NFTs, he wanted to create pieces of art that would live forever and give those who are interested in his art a chance to own the digital asset.
